Lillian Driessens-Fleming

Author, A Separate Branch: The Untold True Story of the Author's Life

Welcome to the homepage of Lillian Driessens-Fleming!

A Separate Branch tells the story of the trials and tribulations of Lillian’s life, and the internal strength and external aids that helped her overcome her struggles.  Lillian repeatedly proves herself positive and resourceful, often on the cutting edge of new social or professional developments, but also acknowledges that all people make mistakes, and that dealing with those mistakes is part of what makes us human.

Born in Belgium during the Nazi occupation in World War II, she has dealt with the challenges of immigrating to Canada, suffering physical and sexual abuse, struggling with life on a tobacco farm, navigating the world of feminism in a male dominated culture, and summoning the strength to venture away from cultural traditions and principles to create her own path in life at the expense of family alienation and social ridicule.

A story of strength, hope and survival, A Separate Branch is riveting and will leave readers with a sense that they were living life right beside Lillian as she journeyed through every trial and triumph.  Share in all the joy and laughter, and pain and the tears that Lillian has experienced throughout the years!

We hope you enjoy Lillian's website and if you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We hope to see you again, as there will continue to be new updates to this website. There’s much more to come!
